I bent down the other day to pick something off the ground and felt a slight twinge in my back. Here I am 4 days later and cannot shake off the ache. A few years ago picking up a sprain or strain left me uncomfortable for a day, two at the most.
Why is it that the older you get the slower your recovery rate? Why is it things you did without thinking you now have to think about? Why do I keep thinking Iam 25 years younger than I really am?
WHY IS MY BODY GETTING OLDER BUT MY MIND KEEPS TRYING TO CONVINCE ME I AM NOT?

WAGES WAGES WAGES!
The Prime Minister of the UK earns £142,000 a year. Not a bad wage till you realise that the director general of the BBC earns £838,000, 6 times the amount. A teacher in Essex earned £232,500 and a GP in London earned £475,000.
How can this be that people whose wages are paid by the taxpayer earn more than the person who has the job of looking after this country and making SERIOUS decisions!

A CASE FOR CASTRATION?
So this guy has 10 kids by 10 different women. No problem he earns loads of cash and makes sure that his children are all well catered for....NAH!
This guy loves and leaves the women and they are, in the main, unemployed and living off benefits.
Apparently by the time the kids have reached 16 it will have cost the tax payers £1.5m in benefits to look after them!
SORRY BUT THIS GUY NEEDS TO BE SORTED AND HIS VARIOUS PARTNERS NEED TO KEEP THEIR LEGS CLOSED!!!!

SPEND MY MONEY
Once again the government amaze me by the ways in which they spend my tax contributions!
In a report about a very generous donation to the Arts by a rich philanthropist there was a statement that the UK government give grants to the tune of £62m to the Arts every year. What an waste of money!
The very next report was about spending cuts to try and balance the books.
Once again, in the middle of a recession, we seem to spending money on luxuries we cannot afford.
I WOULD REALLY LIKE A SAY IN WHERE MY HARD EARNED CASH GOES.

RELIGIOUS PROTEST
A church in the USA is to encourage an International "Burn the Koran" day. They are encouraging Christians all over the world to show their solidarity on the anniversary of the 9/11 outrages.
Don't these people realise that the followers of Allah are not all terrorists? It just so happens that these terrorists were Muslims. The vast majority of those who follow the Koran are normal people like them who are just as disturbed by the actions of those who use their name to validate their deeds.
It would have a bigger impact on terrorism if these religious bigots actually embraced their muslim brothers and sisters in a combined show of solidarity rather than this foolish act of ignorance.
I THOUGHT CHRISTIAN TEACHINGS INCLUDED LOVING THY NEIGHBOUR AND TURNING THE OTHER CHEEK

POPE'S VISIT
His holiness is visiting the UK in the next few weeks. For hundreds of thousands of catholics the visit is greatly anticipated.
However, now there is an debate about who pays for all the arrangements, the venues, and the security. Again we have to remind the government that we are skint! Apparently if the Pope, or any other relegious leader, decides to spread their ministry the costs lie with them. If they are invited on a "state visit" then we, the British tax payer, will pick up the not unconsiderable bill.
NOTE TO GOVERNMENT - WE HAVE NO MONEY STOP INVITING PEOPLE TO PARTIES WE CAN'T AFFORD TO THROW

SMALL SCHOOL CLOSURE
I felt a little sorry that economics were being considered before the education of two kids when a school on the west coast of Scotland was to be closed. It cost about £110,000 a year to keep the school open for the two pupils. Ok I can see the economics but some things we just have to stand good for.
But hang on................. a later report reveals that the children are siblings and the headmistress is their mother.
What we really have here is a home schooling situation where the parents are being paid by the education authorities and, presumably, being give accommodation in which to deliver the education.
CALL ME OLD FASHIOINED BUT TEACHERS WERE ONE OF THE PROFESSIONS THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE ETHICALLY SOUND AND AN EXAMPLE TO THIER YOUNG CHARGES...IN THIS CASE....QUESTIONABLE!

TRAFFIC JAMS
We all moan about the amount of traffic on the roads these days and the resultant traffic jams.
Let's all spare a thought then for our freinds in China. I have just read a report that some drivers have been stuck in a traffic jam on the China's Beijing-Tibet highway for 3 days in a 75 mile tailback. - Now that is something to moan about!
HOW MANY GAMES OF I SPY WITH MY LITTLE EYE CAN YOU GET THROUGH IN 3 DAYS?
