The first reports of rioting in the media referred to rioting in the UK or in Britain. Less than accurate press coverage has had an impact on tourism in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. The only place there has been rioting so far is in England. England is in the UK it IS NOT THE UK!!!!

PARENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Some of the English rioters and looters were teenagers. A 14 year old girl appeared in court today charged with looting and the magistrate was appalled that her parents hadn't accompanied her to the court. She was ordered to stay at thecourt till her parents picked her up.

UNSOLICITED CALLS
Why do we always get calls from the US telling us we have won an all expenses cruise in the caribbean or one of many "can you take part in a survey - it is not a sales call" when we are furthest away from our phones.
STOP CALLING - IF WE WANT A CARIBBEAN CRUISE OR TO TAKE PART IN A SURVEY WE WILL CALL YOU!!!!!!

RIOTS IN ENGLAND
You can blame the riots on anything you want and, it has already started. SO far there has been the shooting of a youth by police, breakdown of communications and relations between the public and the police, social deprivation, government policies, immigration and racial tension.
If the reasons for these riots were as given, how come they have sprung up accross London, Birmingham, Bristol and Nottingham?? Surely these communities have not been subejected to the shooting of a youth by police, breakdown of communications and relations between the public and the police, social deprivation, government policies, immigration and racial tension.
The blame really lies with these criminals who use any excuse to commit crime, whether it is arson, theft or, as we now hear, murder. It also lies with the idiots who folow them and use the opportunities for their own ends.
It is heartening, however, to hear some of the local community workers organising clean ups and talking about "reclaiming their streets and neighbourhoods" from the gangs and thugs.
Most decent folk don't want this behaviour in their area, their streets or their countries.
LET'S MAKE SURE THE LUNATICS DON'T TAKE OVER THE ASYLUM - MAKE SURE YOU KNOW WHERE YOUR KIDS ARE TONIGHT!!

PROTESTING OR RIOTING
A peaceful protest turned into a riot. Here we go again. In this democracy people have the right to conduct peaceful protests - no matter their "cause".
It is outrageous that these protests can be hi-jacked by idiots who throw petrol bombs, wreck shops homes and cars, loot property and generally act like savages. There is no excuse for their actions. The presence of petrol bombs shows a degree of pre-meditaiton rather than spontaneity.

COURT SENTENCING
The guy who threw a pie in the face of Murdoch has had his sentence of six weeks in jail to only four! How come this guy got jailed at all? Criminals who carry out much more serious assaults, deal drugs, break into other folks property and rob are being let off with cautions and community service, if indeed they ever get to court.
WE NEED TO GET SENTENCING FOR CRIMES SORTED OUT IN THIS COUNTRY - THE MORE SERIOUS THE CRIME THE HARSHER THE SENTENCE
