A HOME SECRETARY WITH SOME COMMON SENSE?

The new Home Secretary, Suella Braverman, has written to Police Chiefs in England and Wales to tell them that public trust in the police had been shattered.

She said there is a perception that police "have had to spend too much time on symbolic gestures, rather than actually fighting crime".  She has told them that initiatives on diversity and inclusion "should not take precedence over common-sense policing".

WELL SAID HOME SECRETARY. LETS GET RID OF RAINBOW DECORATED POLICE CARS AND COMMITTING TO SERVE EVERY MINORITY GROUP ISSUE AS A PRIORITY.  CONCENTRATE ON PROVIDING A SAFE ENVIRONMENT FOR ALL!

A pro vegan group in Germany are encouraging vegan woman to withhold sexual favours from any man who eats meat.

They argue that eating meat results in men breaking wind, and that the methane they produce damages the ozone layer. Interestingly, they are not suggesting vegan men should do the same with meat eating women.

Maybe meat doesn't have the same flatulent result in those of the female gender.

IN ANY CASE, I FIND THAT A BOWL OF VEGETABLE SOUP GENERATES MORE WIND THAN ANY RUMP STEAK.

WARNING THIS MAY BE DISTRESSING TO SOME PEOPLE

I see that TV channels have extended their warnings before their programmes to now include current issues, scenes of a graphic and sexual nature, offensive behaviour and deals with issues that some may feel uncomfortable with.

Who is it demands these warnings? Is it just TV executives covering their backs or are people really upset that Toya Battersby is appearing in court? The former I suspect

GO ON THEN MR PUTIN

The two week "special operation" to free the people of the Ukraine has now been going on for 6 months.  Yesterday Mr Putin said his aim is to stop the war. Mr Putin, all you need to do is withdraw all your troops back into Russia and the war will stop....simple.

AS THE NIKE ADVERT SAYS....."JUST DO IT"

WHY?

Like everyone else I was saddened to hear of the death of Queen Elizabeth.  She seemed to be a nice lady.  People feel sorry for her and her family who have deal with the loss of a mother, a grand mother, a great grandma, a cousin, a friend.

I get all that.  What I don't get is these members of the public being interviewed on telly who are "devastated", "haven't slept since I heard", "had to come to say goodbye because I just loved her" , forming queues that will take up 26 hours to get to view a flag covered coffin that may, or may not hold the ex monarchs body, and travelling from other countries specifically to "honour Queen Elizabeth"

ITS SEPTEMBER...ITS CHRISTMAS

Congratulations to "The Village Hotel" who win my "Shop early for Christmas" prize  Last night I noticed their TV advert inviting us to book now for their Christmas meals and parties.

It's SEPTEMBER. Mary was only 8 months into her pregnancy and the world was still counting years in BC!

NO ONE SHOULD ADVERTISE CHRISTMAS UNTIL THE BEGINNING OF DECEMBER.

PRESENTERS PLEASE PRESENT

Just watched a breakfast time TV show and found myself shouting at the presenters to shut up.  

The two PRESENTERS shoved THEIR views on a number of stories down their viewers throats.  They also fawned over celebrities, oowed and aawed over babies and small animals, and oozed sympathy with victims of crime.

I am not interested in the comments or views of the presenters, I want them to ask serious and probing questions of people who know what they are talking about and to stop being disingenuous. 

TV PRESENTERS ARE JUST THAT, THEY ARE NOT SOCIAL WORKERS, EXPERTS IN EVERY SUBJECT UNDER THE SUN, COUNSELLORS OR EVERYONES BEST BUDDY.
