MY BOY LOLLIPOP

So the school crossing patroller - lollipop man to me and you - wanted to thank motorists who stopped to let the kids cross the road.  He used to shout his thanks but the motorists didn't hear him so he made a modification to his lollypop - he stuck a "thank you" sign on it.

Now he has been warned by his employers and ordered to take it down as it might be a distraction to drivers!  What a load of rubbish - in that case the sight of an elderly man who walks out in the front of traffic carrying a "STOP" sign is not a distraction to drivers, or a danger to himself.

In this day and age, when good manners are in short supply, it is nice when someone takes time and thought to thank someone.  The local council needs to lighten up and think again.

TO THE LOLLIPOP MAN ----- THANK YOU
