A baroness of this countries Parliament has been found guilty by her peers of making bogus claims for housing. As well as being banned from the House of Lords till 2012, she was fined £125,000. However, she was allowed to pay this back by foregoing her £300 a day daily attendance fee and she doesn't have to start paying till she resumes office.
That means we, the tax payer, are actually paying her fine.
Sorry but fraud is fraud. If I fiddled my expenses and was lucky enough not to be sent to jail I doubt I would get 2yrs to pay my fine at the tax payers expense and given 2years period of grace.
